The chill of brisk autumn air on my face
after being inside all day
feels wonderful.
A cold lick of an ice cream cone
under the hot summer sun
brings a delightful chill.
BUT
Words from a friend
said with no compassion
bring a different chill to my bones.
Accusations and a slamming door
(with no room for discussion)
are harsher than a New York City blizzard.
Silence after pouring out my heart
and waiting and waiting for any response
feels icy cold to me.
Brain freeze?
I think I have soul freeze.
good Nina. soul freeze shouldn't happen I think but sometimes does.
